Job Title: Application Engineer Job Description: The Application Engineer (AE) is a growth position either within ARCHIBUS Professional Services--developing into a customer-interactive professional services consultant, or within Engineering working as a product manager. The ideal candidate will welcome the challenge of wearing many hats during the initial phase of his or her job development. You will assist Customer Support answering technical calls, work with Engineering to perform QA tasks in support of product releases, and help with the set up and maintenance of lab configurations. The AE will be tasked with preparing for and conducting end-user and internal training sessions both via the Web and in classroom settings. You will develop solutions for customer projects, test results, and document the procedures under the direction of a Sr. AE or Professional Services consultant. Other responsibilities include: Providing support to professional services on consulting engagements Analyzing client needs and designing data structures and methods as required Defining database table structures, relationships, and schema Modifying client application user interfaces (HTML, XML, XSL, JavaScript) Testing final software Creating user documentation on the customized software which leads the user through the steps required to manage their information Training end-users on the software Requirements: Willingness to take on new challenges Self-motivated Excellent interpersonal skills (verbal and written) Strong technical background and problem solving skills Web application experience (Visual Basic, HTML, Java Script, SQL) Experience in XML/XSL, a plus Familiarity with AutoCAD, a plus Previous Experience in Facility Management, Healthcare, or Higher Education industries, a plus This position requires as B.S. in Computer Science or Engineering and/or 1 to 3 years of equivalent professional experience.
