Job Title: GIS/FM Sales Engineer

Job Description:
ARCHIBUS, Inc. is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to play a key role in the business
development team, which is responsible for growing revenue through system integration partners
and strategic accounts.
As an integral member of the team, the Sales Engineer will work cooperatively with system
integration partners and business development managers to present the technical value
proposition of our infrastructure and facility management software product.
The successful candidate will have a proven background in supporting complex sales
environments, working within the dynamics of partnerships, leveraging product management
to architect and deliver solutions through consultative selling. The ideal candidate will
be a driven, highly-motivated team player with strategic vision, a diverse technical background,
and a significant track record in sales execution.
Responsibilities:
As an ARCHIBUS Sales Engineer, you will consistently demonstrate your ability to deal with clients, and partners, at a business-to-business level, identifying and providing solutions that fulfill the business needs of our clients. You will be responsible for:
Administrative Areas
- Work in conjunction with Sales Account Manager/Business Development Manager to evaluate client needs and recommend strategies to bring leading-edge technology to the IWMS/FM/CAFM/GIS industry in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Facilitate the business development process for Government industry accounts, namely in the Washington, DC Metro/Mid-Atlantic area approximately 40-50% of your time; the remaining 50-60% of your time in a national capacity for the Federal Government & State/Local Government.
- Coordinate sales activities of the various regional territories, working with the Sales/Account manager in the preparation of detailed, accurate, monthly forecasts using the latest customer relationship management software.
- Provide technology demonstrations, presentations, sales support & coordination, business development functions and participate in selected marketing events.
- Develop strong interpersonal relationships, with ARCHIBUS Sales Team, ARCHIBUS Technology Partners, ARCHIBUS Solution Partners, ESRI Partners, and customers & technology suppliers. In addition, maintain continuity with ARCHIBUS virtual global sales teams.
- Assist in the coordination and scheduling of sales events; including presentations, conference calls, LiveMeeting/Webex presentations, development of presentation materials, development of presentation packets, coordination of product collateral, etc.
- Maintain and manage calendar of events; including general project activities, sales & marketing activities, and special industry campaigns.
- Provide support and staffing for industry marketing events and programs, not limited to webinars, tradeshows, events, workshops, etc.
- Work within a team environment for the development and delivery of client solutions.
Technical Areas
- Use Sales qualification process and management of sales plans to support sales development; sales pipeline & forecasting management.
- Deliver technical solution presentations to prospective clients through both ARCHIBUS & ESRI product offerings, either onsite or remotely.
- Apply consultative skill sets to provide appropriate solution offerings that meet and exceed the client requirements.
- Assist in the development of client budgets and proposals related to ARCHIBUS & ESRI solution implementations. This will be for draft budget and proposal development purposes only.
- Perform pre-qualification sales calls/visits into various regions and vertical markets to assist in lead generation activities.
- Interface, as necessary, with Boston-based professional services teams for client deployments by providing necessary technical and administrative support.
Requirements:
The successful candidate must:
- Be a mature, professional, capable of dealing at all levels in major corporate accounts, from executives to end-users. Excel in the area of presentation delivery to customers and partners, with strong communication skills
- Have professional experience and proven ability to successfully sell and deploy GIS/IWMS/CAFM/GIS technology in the Federal Government, State/Local and Higher Education industries
- Practice a solution-based approach to solving customer requirements
- Demonstrate excellent written, verbal & visual communication skills
- Be a problem solver with a “get-it-done” attitude and strong self-motivational attributes
- Possess superior organizational/time management skills and a “make-it-happen” attitude
- Willingness to travel up to 30-40% of the time
- Maintain an up-to-date US Passport
- Ability to work, and produce, from a home-office environment
Experience:
Two - Three (2-3) or more years of sales engineering experience in a GIS or IWMS/FM/CAFM solutions environment, specifically in ARCHIBUS, ESRI, Autodesk, or JAVA/J2EE Web-based technologies. Preference for understanding business processes and alignment of IWMS solutions in Federal Government, State/Local and Higher Education industries. Fluent use of Microsoft Office suite of products, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc.
Education: B.S. degree, or equivalent experience
Compensation: Base Salary plus Variable Compensation based on defined MBOs.
