V.23 Spotlight: Strategic Financial Analysis: Enterprise Level Real Estate, Infrastructure, Asset and Cost Management

Organizations armed only with fragmented views of their real estate, infrastructure, facilities, assets and costs, are prevented from seeing whether those investments truly support their strategic plans. For organizations frustrated by this fragmented view, the latest release of ARCHIBUS features the new Strategic Financial Analysis (SFA) application.

Strategic Financial Analysis bridges the gap between information technology, finance and human resources, and traditional ERP systems. For finance professionals, SFA connects information about property, plant and equipment so that they can see the factors that lead to the numbers on their balance sheets. For an organization's human resources department, SFA integrates payroll systems and staff locations across all facilities. Strategic Financial Analysis also links financial data and systems with an organization's facilities operations on an enterprise-wide level.

Using SFA, organizations can understand total costs and improve decision support and collaboration. The application utilizes ARCHIBUS Enterprise Information Modeling to create a common operating picture that enables finance professionals, capital planners, real estate and facility directors, as well as operational managers to work together and more effectively run their organizations. 13km Trans-Alpine Tunnel Deploys ARCHIBUS Building Operations and Preventative Maintenance for Complex Operations and Safety

Frejus Tunnel is one of the major traffic connections between Italy and France and is one of the ten longest road tunnels in the world. Such a long and well-trafficked tunnel requires complex ventilation, fire suppression, and emergency response systems, all of which need to be kept at peak performance.

Frejus Tunnel is maintained by TECNOSITAF, Srl. The company has taken major steps to overhaul the tunnel's safety measures in the past fifteen years, installing traffic cameras, modern fire and smoke detectors, and temperature sensors. In 2007, they constructed a separate rescue tunnel parallel to the highway tunnel to aid in emergency response.

In 2014, TECNOSITAF turned to ARCHIBUS in order to manage and maintain their many systems on one integrated platform. From Building Operations to Preventative Maintenance, TECNOSITAF has successfully revolutionized tunnel maintenance using ARCHIBUS. They have fully implemented ARCHIBUS for the main tunnel in the past two years, and are now looking to implement ARCHIBUS for the new rescue tunnel. Learn more.

AUG Leader Profile: West Bend Joint School District's Cory Heinecke

Cory Heinecke is the Facilities Technologist at West Bend Joint School District in West Bend, Wisconsin. He is also the leader of a small but extremely engaged and energetic ARCHIBUS User Group (AUG). Cory believes in a hands-on approach to AUG leadership, and this dedication has paid off. Cory distinguished himself this April by being the only AUG leader to bring every single one of his members to Nexus 2016.

We were inspired by Cory's passion for the ARCHIBUS community and we spoke with him recently to find out more about Cory the person, as well as how he accomplished this remarkable feat. Read the Interview
