City of Boston Declares June 23 as ARCHIBUS 30th Anniversary Appreciation Day

June 20, 2012 — Boston, Massachusetts

Boston-based ARCHIBUS, Inc. (www.archibus.com), the #1 developer of real estate, infrastructure and facilities management software in the world, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, an achievement recently recognized by Governor Deval Patrick and Mayor Thomas Menino, who cited the company’s contributions to both technology innovation and to expanding the local and state economies through its worldwide sales.

Recognizing ARCHIBUS’ achievements was Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, who videotaped a greeting to attendees at the recent annual International ARCHIBUS Users’ Conference in Boston, in addition to sending written congratulations.

“Massachusetts is home to many leaders in the global innovation economy,” wrote Governor Patrick. “For thirty years, ARCHIBUS has helped public and private organizations in over 130 countries around the world improve their operational efficiency from their headquarters right here in Boston. I am proud of ARCHIBUS’ commitment to its partners and to the development of state of the art software solutions in health care, education, government, and real estate sectors.”

In the official City Proclamation declaring June 23 as ARCHIBUS 30th Anniversary Appreciation Day, Mayor Menino wrote, “ARCHIBUS, Inc. has, for 30 years, been a pillar of Boston’s economy through its local development and global sales of the leading real estate, infrastructure, and facilities management software in the world.”

“ARCHIBUS pursues continued growth by creating software applications that underscore its mission of reducing operational costs, promoting environmental sustainability, and increasing productivity and efficiency for Massachusetts-based organizations – such as EMC, Covidien, Millennium, Raytheon, MIT, Northeastern University, the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Children’s Hospital Boston – as well as for 16,000 international clients from diverse industries, such as General Motors, Caterpillar, European Space Agency, Banco Santander, Eni, Wimbledon, University of Sydney, and Capital Steel and Wuhan University in China.

Thanking the CEOs of Massachusetts and Boston, ARCHIBUS, Inc. CEO Bruce K. Forbes emphasized the company’s commitment to its software development activities in the state, underscored by the creation of a recently launched, comprehensive suite of energy, environmental and risk management software.

“Making the world a better place means more than just increasing the operational efficiency of organizations, it also means helping them adopt practices that make the world a greener place,” said Forbes. “We are proud to be in a position to further both goals and are gratified by the recognition ARCHIBUS has received from the governor and mayor.”
