The ARCHIBUS EMEA Community Gathers in Paris for Connect and ARCHIBUS UX Day 2018
ARCHIBUS Users and Business Partners come together at Paris Charles De Gaulle.
Members of the ARCHIBUS community gathered in Paris this month for the EMEA Connect (annual partner conference), and the new ARCHIBUS UX Day (user event).
ARCHIBUS EMEA Connect in Paris – CDG
ARCHIBUS Connect is our annual platform for networking and collaboration, which brings together Business Partners from far and wide. This year our hosts, Groupe ADP, welcomed delegates from across the region to Université du Service, Bâtiment Aéronef in Roissy. Home locations ranged from South Africa to Estonia, and from the Atlantic coast to the Black Sea and all points in between. Furthermore, our partners brought a wealth of experience which was shown in the technical and business sessions. Topics ranged from the product roadmap to technical integration, and from the challenges of BIM to FM to the management of standards such as IFRS16 and the new Facilities Management ISO 41000.
These are exciting times for anyone connected with ARCHIBUS community. This is a time of really positive change and Business Partners and Users alike were happy to hear about the progress made by ARCHIBUS as we look to 2019 and the future. To emphasize this, the whole of the new ARCHIBUS Executive Team were on hand to meet with delegates and give some of the keynote presentations.
In addition, ARCHIBUS Connect featured ample opportunity for networking and discussion, which is always a feature of these events. Competition and camaraderie underpin our partner community as part of our ARCHIBUS Ecosystem. Partners maintain their own very high standards, whilst working together on many projects. This year two partners were singled out for awards during the Connect. What’s more these awards illustrated the commitment to the community and to the excellence that comes from that. Business Partners Aremis and Procos Group have both had a significant impact on the marketplace, and on our network during the past twelve months. Consequently, the recognition was well deserved.
ARCHIBUS UX Day at Groupe ADP
The ARCHIBUS EMEA UX (User Experience) Day allowed us to introduce a new format and style to our user events. The large number of delegates who attended in person was joined by many more remote attendees, as the event was streamed for the first time. In addition, delegates could take advantage of simultaneous translation of the sessions.

These sessions included a keynote from ARCHIBUS President John McGee, who drove home the idea of that positive change in ARCHIBUS and the wider community. CTO Steve Segarra presented a flavor of the new ARCHIBUS and afterwards ran the friendly gauntlet of the “wish list” session. ARCHIBUS users have always had a huge influence on the nature of the ARCHIBUS software and the output from this lively session was no different.
The main feature of the UX Day was the exceptional quality of the client presentations. ARCHIBUS Users from adidas, Corda Campus, Orange, SNCF, and of course Groupe ADP themselves took part. The sharing of the successes and challenges within these prestigious projects served to emphasize the role that our clients play in pushing the boundaries of what ARCHIBUS can do.
Special mention should go to our hosts Groupe ADP. From the opening tour of the ground breaking Maison de l’Environnement to the final summing up they were excellent hosts. What’s more, the unique style of Aeronef provided a fitting venue and was a key factor in the success for both events.
As a result, there will be a UX Day in 2019, in EMEA. The location and dates will be announced in the New Year.
