System Upgrades | Online – May 27 – 28, 2020
Designed to give system administrators, IT project managers, and developers a realistic understanding for what is involved in upgrading Archibus, whether it be analyzing past and future schema changes, taking advantage of new technologies, or applying changes across multiple upgrade environments. Participants will review recommended procedures and tools for performing system upgrades. The session begins with an overview of a typical upgrade workflow, before walking through some of the tools available to administrators like the Database Upgrade Wizard, Schema Change Wizard, the Eclipse development environment, etc. Participants will also walk through common examples of system modifications and discuss methods for ensuring a smooth upgrade for each: changes to schema tables and fields, AXVW and JS files, CSS and image files, or Paginated reports and templates, etc. The course ends with a brief survey of new technologies to consider applying during upgrades: home pages, BIRT reports, Auto-lookup identifiers, HTML-5 drawings, etc.
